The human body is a biological machine

The soul lives in a human body and very often mistakes itself for that body. Consequently, the soul comes to believe that it is a human being who possesses a soul. In doing so, the soul labors under a misconception, for it *is* the soul.

The human body is a biological machine that runs at 37 degrees Celsius. Let’s take a closer look at the human body: at its core, we have the human bony framework — the skeleton. Housed within it are the various biological organs, such as the stomach and intestines. The function of the stomach and intestines is akin to that of an internal combustion engine in a car.

If a person believes they are the human body, that is incorrect. You are a soul controlling a human body. The human body is a biological machine.

Who are you? Are you the bone? No. Are you the stomach and intestines? No. Are you the heart? Or the lungs? No. You are the soul. You yourself are the spiritual, immortal being — the soul. And you control a human body.
